Welcome to my messy, crazy life.
What is this site?
This is an old fashioned blog. I have a crazy life that makes me laugh, and I hope it makes you laugh as well. I like to chat about what is happening – currently, my roof is leaking. I will certainly gripe about laundry. I will also share some of the tough transitions that a mom of older kids faces.
So, come along as I try to clean my house, fix the darn roof and figure out if I have the wherewithal to endure two more teens getting their drivers’ licenses.
Spoiler alert. I don’t. That’s what Mr. Incredible is here for.
I think mom of high schoolers and college kids sums up my life nicely. I am at the point where mom duties are emotional, financial and constantly driving to friends’ houses and sporting events.
I also have 2.5 fleeting years until I am officially an empty nester, which means I have to find out what I want to be when I grow up. It’s surreal to help your children chart college and career paths, when you haven’t really picked a traditional professional path.
I’ll leave my resume talk for another day, but let’s say I have had several varied and interesting jobs throughout my life that have fantastically and organically led to one another. It’s been quite the journey.
Oh, and I am prone to ending sentences with prepositions. If that bothers you, turn around.
About My House
If you have ever looked through Pinterest, and seen those lovely houses that are clean and organized – at the same time – then you have a very good image of what my house does not look like.
My roof is leaking. Right now. Yay. My clean laundry has been living on the living room couch for about three days. And my minivan has enough dirt in it to restore a baseball infield.
Yes, I am crazy, but I thought we had already established that.
Grab a Cup of Coffee
So, if all of that sounds right up your alley, grab a cup of coffee or two. I am not judging. I will likely write at some point about my undying love of coffee. I mean other than right now. Relax, let the dog eat that flip flop. Pretend you don’t see the kids sneaking that plate of food up to their room. And enjoy a little “me” time.
Seriously, y’all… we all need a little sanity in our lives. And I promise, this blog will contain no sanity. At all. None.
